I didn’t meet Jerry until he moved back to BC and began to attend family holiday and birthday gatherings. We didn’t have many conversations, mainly due to the noise and commotion from the kids who were there. I’m left with the impression of a lovely, sweet man who enjoyed being with his family. I remember his smile as the little ones opened their presents. Seeing the photos of Jerry teaching the kids to fish makes me smile. I know he’ll be missed by those kids, the rest of his family, and also by me. I’m grateful that I got to know the patriarch of a family that is part of my family, too.
